What’s New in DesignO: Complete Sticker Support and Advanced Repeat Patterns

What's New in DesignO- Complete Sticker Support and Advanced Repeat Patterns

Sticker printing is one of the fastest-growing product categories in the custom print market. Die-cut shapes, branded labels, custom artwork cuts, the customer demand is real and growing. The gap for most print businesses was never in production. It was in the online ordering experience. Without the right shape options in the editor, customers could not select a shape, upload artwork, and get to checkout without friction. The workflow did not support it, so the order went elsewhere.

The same problem existed for pattern-heavy print categories. Designers and storefront customers working on fabric, wallpaper, event backdrops, or DTF gang sheets had to build repeat layouts element by element. No automation, no pattern logic. Just manual duplication and spacing until the canvas looked right. That is hours of setup work per product that should take minutes.

Both of those gaps are now closed. The latest DesignO update introduces complete Sticker Product support across five shape types and a new Step & Repeat tool that covers the most common repeat patterns used in print production today. Here is what changed.

Complete Sticker Product Support

Sticker products are not just rectangles. Any business selling stickers knows that. A properly built sticker catalog needs die-cut shapes, circles, ovals, squares, and fully custom cuts, without a separate tool or a manual workaround for each shape type.

DesignO now supports a complete sticker workflow out of the box.

  • Die-Cut Stickers follow the exact outline of the customer’s artwork. The editor and production workflow support contour cutting, so the shape a customer designs is the shape that gets cut. This is the format most sticker-focused businesses lead with, and it is now supported without any custom build required.
  • Rectangle and Square Stickers ship with a clean cut edge, making them the natural choice for product labels, packaging applications, and promotional stickers where a simple, professional format is expected.
  • Oval and Circle Stickers round out the shape library. Circular formats show up across branded merchandise, jar labels, and logo stickers, they are now first-class options in the DesignO product catalog, not an edge case that requires workarounds.
  • Custom Shape Stickers give customers the most flexibility. They upload artwork and apply a custom shape cut using the built-in Art tools and clipart library. The result is a fully personalized sticker shape — no manual intervention required from the storefront operator on the back end.

For print businesses, this means sticker products that previously required separate platforms or bespoke configurations can now be set up, sold, and processed through DesignO’s standard workflow. One platform, five shape types, no exceptions.

Step & Repeat: Pattern Creation Built Into the Editor

Repeat patterns are a core part of print production across more categories than most tools account for – fabric, wallpaper, event backdrops, DTF gang sheets, branded wrapping paper, surface pattern design. In every one of those categories, the workflow question is the same: how do you fill a large canvas with a repeating design element without placing and spacing copies by hand.

The new Step & Repeat tool in DesignO answers that directly.

Basic repeat controls let users specify the number of copies, the spacing between them, and the direction of the repeat: Left to Right, Right to Left, Top to Bottom, or Bottom to Top. For straightforward logo tiling or simple grid layouts, this is enough to get the job done.

Auto Fill with advanced pattern modes is where the production value sits. Instead of placing copies manually, users choose a pattern logic and DesignO fills the canvas automatically:

  • Full Drop – elements repeat in a straight grid, aligned row by row.
  • Half Drop – each column is offset vertically by half a unit, the classic repeat pattern used in textiles and fabric printing.
  • Brick – each row is offset horizontally, the same logic as a brick wall.
  • Center – elements radiate out from the center of the canvas.
  • Vertical – elements stack in straight vertical columns.
  • Mirror – elements alternate in mirrored orientations, producing a symmetrical repeat across the canvas.

The use cases cut across almost every large-format and pattern-heavy print vertical: digital textile and fabric printing, surface pattern design, wallpaper production, event and media backdrops, DTF gang sheet creation, and repeating logo or branding layouts. Any product category where filling a large canvas with a structured repeat is part of the standard workflow benefits directly from this tool.

What Step & Repeat replaces is manual duplication, setup work that consumes time before a single order is placed. A layout that used to require significant manual effort becomes a matter of choosing a pattern mode and letting the editor handle the fill.

Why These Features, Why Now

Sticker printing is a market where the storefront experience determines whether a customer places an order or moves on. Without the right shape options and a workflow that handles custom cuts natively, print businesses were losing sticker orders to platforms built specifically for that product category.

Step & Repeat addresses a different operational pain, but the same underlying problem: design and setup time that does not need to be manual. Print businesses selling fabric, wallpaper, backdrops, or gang sheets know the cost of building repeat layouts by hand for every order or product configuration. The tool removes that cost from the workflow entirely.

Both additions expand the categories of print products a business can sell and process through DesignO, without stitching together separate tools, workarounds, or custom builds for specific product types.
